Laying Low in the Snow
This is what we woke up to this morning. It's the end of March, and we have 4 inches of snow on the ground. Once again, our Albany mantra is repeated - "Next time, we're moving south."
So we've decided to lay low today. There may be snow outside, but it's not slow-going for my clients. I have four different people needing things before the weekend, so it's hardcore computer work for me. Brett is having fun writing programs for new phone.
And Sophia...well, she's pretty much the same. She slept last night from 8:45 pm - 2 am and then 2:30 - 7:15 am. Not too shabby. Now if only I wouldn't have stayed up until 1 am doing work, we could have taken advantage of that time! Oh well. At least we know she's on the road to sleeping through the night.
Check out the last picture in this post. I have a feeling Sophia is going to be a blankie kid. She rubs her face against blankets and burp rags, and it puts her to sleep. SO CUTE.

Easter/Wedding dress
Thank you Grandma Suppinger for the super cute dress! Mom made this dress for Sophia for Easter. We just got it the mail today, and I couldn't help trying it on her. Too cute! Sophia's not too big on hats though. She always yells at me when I put one on her before we head outside. I put this hat on her and she just kept trying to eat it. The dress may be a little big now, but it will be perfect for her godparent's wedding in April. She's wearing pink to your wedding, Sarah and Chris!

My office assistant
I don't know if everyone knows this, but I've been working at home for the past two months or so. I've taken on a lot of new freelance clients and have maintained some former clients. Things are going really well the business, and I'm bringing in good money for just working part time. Best of all, I still get to spend time with Sophia. I decided to go splurge some business money on her the other day, so I got this seat for her. I'd never heard of an infant positioner before, but this thing is great. I can sit her in it, and because of the higher sides on the seat, she sits up all by herself. I put her in that seat just about everywhere now. She sits on the counter while I make dinner or clean the kitchen. Best of all, she can sit in her seat on my desk while I work. There's this rotating tray that goes around the seat and has a bunch of toys on it, but she's not quite to the point where she's playing with the toys. I get to talk and coo to her while I take care of my clients. It's great. And she makes a pretty good office assistant. Never a negative comment! She doesn't even mind my messy desk...

Baby guitar
A rare sight
I had to take a picture of this one. Sophia has found it difficult to take a nap in the afternoon. She likes to be in on everything! Really, it's not that interesting around here during the day. All I do is sit in front of my computer doing design work. Apparently, it so much more fun to sit in my lap and watch me click away. We're raising a techno baby.
Lately, the only way to get her to fall asleep for an afternoon nap is to run errands in the car. She falls asleep in the car, in the stroller, walking around the grocery store, and right in front of the band at church (drums and all). WHY won't she fall asleep in her BED?!?! We bought a noise machine, and that seems to help. White noise is the secret. I guess we'll stick with that.
