The latest projects

Here's a few of my latest projects. I couldn't post pictures of these for a while because they were gifts.

Blanket for Brett's brother and wife, Chad and Rebecca. Got to love those Moda precuts.

Blanket for Brett's parents. She is a big Colts fan. He is a huge Saints fan. Little did we know at the time, they would be meeting in the Superbowl. I think it was my blanket that made it happen. This is just fleece on both sides with flannel logos appliqued on.

Blanket for Chris and Sarah Sansone's little girl, who is set to arrived ANY DAY NOW! I'm so excited! One side was a simple patchwork. The other side, I did a big applique that says, Future Rock Star. So fitting. I got to do both satin stitching on my machine and blanket stitching by hand, so it was a good balance for me.

Blanket for Brett's grandmother for her 88th birthday. I made this one out of scraps from my stash. I think the colors blended together surprisingly well. I hand quilted hearts on to the quilt - one heart for each member of the family. The large one in the center is his grandma, then there are hearts radiating out from that in diminishing size that represent each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild. I wish you could see it better in the pictures! I was so happy with how it turned out.

I know...I haven't posted in a LONG time

So I haven't posted in a LONG time. We've just been busy! It took us a while to come down from the Christmas high. There was a stomach flu and a few colds that went through the house. Working and playing just take a lot out of you! Brett is home for a while, so we are soaking in all the time that we have with him until he goes back to work.

For now, I'm just going to caption all of the pictures that we took over the past month or so. If I wrote about everything that has happened since our last post, I'd be writing for a long time! And I'd like to squeeze in some sleep tonight too!

Sophia's pigtails - cute and short-lived. She likes to pull them out.

Claire says, "No more kisses!"

Sophia was digging the vacuum.

Sophia singing once again. The microphone is STILL her favorite toy.

"Mommy, I love my new hat!" I couldn't find any hats for Claire. I have some from Sophia, but I just couldn't track them down. So I made this for Claire. It's supposed to be an apple with a little stem and leaf at the top.

We moved Sophia in to her "big bed" after Christmas. She's doing well in it so far!

Sharing her big bed with Claire.

I love it when she jams...thanks to Brett's guitar from his Guitar Hero game.

Claire likes to sit in her seat while I work in the kitchen. She's getting so big! She can sit up on her own now and is an expert at Army crawling across the room.

Brett and I bought the EA Sports Active game for the Wii, and Sophia likes all of the toys that came with it.

The girls got these cute little dogs from Brett's parents for Christmas. They sing and dance with them, and the dogs have even been programmed to say the girls' names.

GO BOILERS!

Jumping on Sophia's bed.

Happy 30th Birthday, Brett! Like the cake? It's supposed to be a Wii remote controller. It was the first time I'd ever made fondant icing. I have a new respect for those decorators on Ace of Cakes.

A BIG card for a BIG birthday. Brett's gift was tickets to an Indianapolis Indians game this coming summer.

Sophia and Claire like to have tea parties with the stuffed animals.

The first round of the big snowstorm. We ended up with about 8 or 9 inches when everything was said and done. The snowstorm trapped Brett in DC for a few extra days. I can't wait for spring...

I bought some cupcakes from the grocery and they were decorated with Colts blue icing...hence the blue face.

Ahhhh....teething biscuits.

Sophia zonked out on the floor of our room while watching Finding Nemo.
