Indianapolis Quilt Show

The girls and I packed up and went to the Indianapolis Quit Guild Show today. With the show being literally down the street from me, I wasn't going to pass it up! We saw some amazing and HUGE quilts there. I can't imagine cutting out the number of pieces that created some of these quilts. I was amazed. And the girls were so good. Minus not being able to physically fit the double stroller through the doors to get in to the show, it was a successful trip. Thank goodness for nice quilting ladies that like to hold babies while mothers unload strollers and lug them through doors.

This quilt was amazing. I can't believe all of the little tiny pieces of fabric.

Claire liked this one and wanted her picture taken with it.

Beautiful ginko leaves on this artist's quilt.
(Made by the sweet lady who held Alana while I wrestled with my stroller.)

Who can turn down a beautiful dresden plate?

I still can't figure out how this one was made...

This one was by far my favorite.
It's just a pieced square of circles that is cut and reassembled. I think I can figure it out.

Fun with striped fabric.

Gorgeous applique.

Bug jars. Isn't that CUTE?!

Teeny, tiny pieces. So meticulous. And it's HUGE! Sophia is there for scale.

This was the most modern one I saw.

Beautiful landscape.

The results from "Take MY picture, Mommy!" Not very pretty!

Avoiding cleaning again...

Yup. I was avoiding cleaning again. This is what I did in the meantime.

The girls' room

I'm finishing up some projects for our girls' rooms. Some things I've been working on for months! I am so close to having everything wrapped up. More pictures to come. For now, here is a small embroidery that I plan to hang in Sophia and Claire's room.

Camera download

I downloaded pictures from my camera. Hence, all of the random postings. Here's some more pictures, for the fun of it.

Who doesn't love a smiling baby? Especially with bubbles?

Think Sophia is a little protective of her sisters?

Alana's baby quilt made by my Aunt Anne and Aunt Marg.

I took a shower while Alana was taking her morning nap, and I came back to the living room to see both older girls in the desk chair soaking in some cartoons.

Matching shirt and pants. How cute.

Yes, this is what it looks like when we get home from the library.

It rained that day. Need I say more?

Flu shot for me!

Flu shot for me too!

Four shots and a nap for me...

Alana has discovered her thumb.

I caught her halfway in between a yawn and a smile. Not sure if I should laugh or cringe at this picture!

Fall trips

It's officially fall. We've made several trips to the apple orchard. We've picked our pumpkins. We've sipped our apple cider, in slushy form. And we've gone to the Zoo Boo at the Indianapolis Zoo.

Kids are THE BEST EXCUSE to go play!

Sewing etc...

Since the arrival of the new sewing machine, I've been up to a few things.

I made the girls some new little outfits for my cousin's wedding in early October. I made bubble skirts and black fleece capes for Sophia and Claire, and I made a little dress for Alana. They looked great!

The other little venture was making two tops for the girls. I was chosen as a pattern tester for Made by Rae! I was so excited! You can read more about it here. I need to get the girls in better lighting and pants for their shot, so I can add them to the Flickr pool. I really loved them...and then I added the ruffle. Oh dear. I think my fabric choice wasn't the best. The totally look like clowns. Cute clowns, but still clowns. Sigh. I still love the tunics, so I'm going to make them wear them.
