Hey, it's OK...July 26, 2010

The past few weeks: doctor appointments, birthdays, HOT weather, ice cream cones, scooter love, quilts finished, and BABIES. Here's my shout out to these awesome ladies.

Hey, it's ok...

to be annoyed by:

My gas tank. My gas tank never gets full enough to reach the F. Somehow, I feel like I'm letting my car down, like taking away a sippy cup from a really thirsty kid before they hit that lip-smacking "ahhh" stage. Just once I want that little needle to get up to the F. I will feel complete.

Car-X. Take a word of advice - never take your car to Car-X for new brakes and rotors. My lifetime brakepads are nice, but I still sound like a tired school bus every time I stop at a red light.

Blueberries and strawberries. Wonderful and tasty as these pleasant fruits may be, they cause uber-poo-age in this household and have been limited to only once per week.

Chickens. Yes, I said chickens. It was these said chickens that I almost ran over last night while driving back home from Lafayette. Apparently they flew the coop and found their way across 52.

Freaky hot weather. Twice last week, I took my kids to Chick-fil-a specifically so they could play on the indoor playground. If we had gone to a park, Sophia would have never gone done the frying-pan-hot slides, and Claire wouldn't have sat in the skin-searing swings.

to be thankful for:

Babies. Our extended family just grew by two feet. My brother and sister-in-law just had their fourth. Hannah Marie Suppinger was born at 11:30 pm on Sunday, July 25. She is 8 lbs 10 oz and 21 in long. Pictures to come.

Cheerios. For several crazy mornings, I have been giving my kids a Ziploc bag's worth of Cheerios for breakfast. Other than Claire making confetti out of them at church this past Sunday, it's been a successful alternative to scrambled eggs.

Washing machines. Due to the uber-poo-age, it has been utilized quite a bit.

Silence. Twice this week, both girls have napped at the same time, which NEVER happens around here.

Late nights. Several times this week, I've stayed up late working on projects. My creativity goes in to overdrive after 10 pm, so I work on things until I'm pretty much exhausted. It's nice to get up in the morning and see that I'm one step closer or completely finished with a project.
