Happy Thanksgiving

We had a fun Thanksgiving this year. Like the last two Thanksgivings, it just couldn't be calm or expected. The first Thanksgiving that Brett and I spent together, he got called in to work and did get home until mid afternoon. No big deal. That allowed for more time to cook.

Last year's Thanksgiving was busy. Brett's parents flew in from Indiana on Thanksgiving Day. Brett worked that morning. I was only 3 weeks away from my due date with Sophia, so I was waddling around cooking the meal. Oh...and we moved that weekend too.

So this year, I was wondering what would happen. Brett flew the day before the holiday, and then he went to Buffalo to spend the night and work the next morning. He was going to be home at noon, bringing the rest of his flight crew with him to eat a late lunch. Ended up that the company sent him to Buffalo for no reason. Because of the holiday, the airlines fly a lesser schedule with fewer flights, and his flights didn't even exist. Yup. He went to Buffalo for no reason. And his company didn't send him home when they figured that out. They sent him to LaGuardia to pick up a broken airplane. Go figure.

So Brett got home mid-afternoon, and we switched the lunch to a dinner. We still had company over to eat all the food, and then we had more company over the next day to eat leftovers. The pictures are from the day after Thanksgiving. One of Brett's fellow captains decided he would bury Sophia in her basket of toys. She loved it! It was good to have people over and be able to spend some time with family.
