Halloween

We actually had a real Halloween this year! Last year, I just dressed Sophia in a cute little jack-o-lantern shirt, took some pictures, and called it a day. Nothing too spectacular.

This year, I made both the girls' outfits. I had some cow print fabric in my stash and decided to make some little cow costumes. They turned out pretty good for not using a pattern. I totally forgot to get pictures of their tales, which were the best parts of the costumes. Oh well. They still looked cute. I made and attached little felt ears to one of my headbands for Sophia, and I used some of my makeup to make her little cheeks even pinker.

Brett wasn't able to join us this year since he was at work. We made the rounds though. I took everyone over to Chris and Sarah Sansone's house for a little party. We left there, made a stop at the Musick house in Lafayette, and then we went to my brother's house for dinner and trick-or-treating. I bundled up Sophia (I left Claire with my parents since it was so cold outside) and went out with her and all the cousins to hit the house in the neighborhood. We only went to maybe a dozen places. Sophia got one piece of candy in her bag and immediately wanted to open it. After a few more houses, she finally got the concept, although there were several times that she went up to the door with all her cousins, got lost in the jumble, and came away without any candy. She thought it was a blast either way. We've discovered that she's a big sucker fan.

After we got back to my brother's house, all the kids went through their buckets of candy. Sophia ended up finding this little toy guitar and walked around playing it all night. And this was serious playing with eyes closed and the whole bit. She had a really good time.
